Bounty Boulevard State School was established in 2009. Starting with approximately 130 students, Bounty has now over 1350 students and continues to grow. The school has modern, flexible learning spaces and provides diverse learning pathways for students, within a vibrant community of learners.
The focus on Learning, Love and Laughter, supports students to be individual, self-directed and lifelong learners who have the skills, knowledge and understandings to make a difference in our world. The school community celebrates the love of learning, and acts to demonstrate the respect for ourselves and others. The school is a place of laughter, where students are happy, engaged, feel safe and are proud to achieve their best and be unique.
Bounty is well known for its BYOD program. It has been recognised by Apple as an Apple Distinguished school for the last few years. Through its integration of iPads specifically into a seamless learning environment, Bounty continues to facilitate learning for our 21st Century Learners.
One of the main programs throughout the school is the Book-a-Night program. This program encourages all children (no matter what age) to read every night and track their reading. Student incentives are on offer throughout the year as students strive to become better readers throughout their education at Bounty.
In 2013, Bounty started the to adopt what was formerly known as School Wide Positive Behaviour to ensure consistency in behaviour management across the school. In 2015, this has now evolved into PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) with the development of BBSS Behaviour Matrix.
Performing Arts at Bounty Boulevard State School is very strong. The BBSS Drama Club was founded in 2011. The Drama Club is for students in the upper years of school who participate in an annual musical. Starting from January and running all the way through to September, the school musical is a permanent fixture in the school's calendar and draws on involvement of not just the students, but staff and parents too. Shows performed include; The Little Mermaid Jr (2017), The Lion King Jr (2016), The Sound of Music (2015), Grease (2014), Seussical (2013), Annie (2012) and Oliver! (2011). Along with Drama Club, our Year 4 students have the exciting opportunity to be a part of the Bounty Bards. The Bounty Bards also perform and annual musical for the community. School choirs and instrumental music lessons are a constant at Bounty with term performances as part of the Performing Arts Showcase. In 2015, for the first time ever, students from Bounty also performed in the 2015 Creative Generations - State School Onstage spectacular held at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
Sporting clubs and programs are also on offer at Bounty. Bounty has had many district, regional and state representatives in school sport. Athletics Club and Running Club have always had high participation levels at Bounty. Students have also participated in State Touch Competitions along with district cricket competitions.
